Tony Adamo, Strategic Sourcing Manager, FMC Corp.

As Strategic Sourcing Manager for FMC Corp., Tony Adamo is responsible for purchasing over $250 million worth of energy and raw materials. He has had 16 years of chemical industry experience with large and medium-size companies in the fields of plastics additives, monomers, coatings, and agricultural chemicals. Tony has held positions in supply chain management, manufacturing, marketing, sales and procurement. He has a BSE ChE degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Houston, Clear Lake.

 

 

Jerry Afdahl, Energy Derivatives Marketing, Cargill Risk Management

Jerry Afdahl graduated from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology with a degree in chemical engineering. He held various engineering and managerial positions in petrochemicals, refining, trading and price risk management with Texaco and Shell prior to joining Cargill Risk Management in late 2004. He started-up Cargill's energy derivatives marketing office in Houston and now manages the North American energy derivatives marketing effort. Jerry is also a member of Cargill Risk Management's Hedging Products Management Team that is responsible for all energy and agriculture derivatives trading and marketing for institutional scale clients. He enjoys leveraging his diverse energy background to support clients in understanding and managing their energy price risk.

 

 

Kay Martin Atchison, Director, Origination, PPM Energy, Inc.

Kay Martin Atchison joined PPM in late 2004. With more than 20 years of commercial experience in natural gas, Kay is targeting the acquisition of assets and development of markets in the Midwest and SE regions of the U.S. Prior to joining PPM, she worked in various segments of the business including positions with producers such as Apache, pipeline marketing affiliates such as Duke, Sonat Marketing, MidCon Gas Marketing, Tenneco Gas Marketing, Enron Gas Marketing, and for the Panhandle Eastern pipelines, and Gulf South Pipelines. Additionally, she worked in various accounting, strategic planning and banking positions. She attended Rhodes College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree and CPA Accounting Program certificate from Louisiana State University. Kay is currently pursuing a Masters through Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

 

 

Porter Bennett, President & CEO, Bentek Energy LLC

Porter Bennett is President and CEO of Bentek Energy, LLC located in Golden, Colorado. He has over 20 years experience analyzing U.S. energy markets and has held positions with consulting companies specializing in energy market analysis. He holds an MS Degree in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines, and a MA Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University. Jim Chunn, Vice President, Marketing, Coral Energy Canada Inc. — moderator

Jim Chunn is Vice President of Marketing for Coral Energy Canada Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Coral Energy Holding, L.P., which is part of the global Shell Trading network. He leads a team that markets energy related-products to end users. Jim graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1980 with a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. Upon graduation, he joined Shell Canada Limited, and has held a number of engineering and commercial positions with Shell companies, both in Canada and in the UK.

Jim joined Coral Energy Canada Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Shell Oil Company upon its formation in Canada in 1997. Since that time, he has held a number of senior commercial positions serving gas and power customers across North America.

 

 

Paul J. Ciesielski, Manager of Natural Gas & Liquids, Mittal Steel USA Inc.

Paul Ciesielski's responsibilities for MSUSA include oversight of all facets of the supply chain for natural gas, liquid fuels and water for MSUSA's 23 facilities across 10 states in the USA. He also performs in an advisory capacity for Mittal's Canadian & Mexican subsidiaries. Paul is responsible for physical execution of all financial hedge activity for the MSUSA and the ancillary accounting reports required by today's strict FAS133 rules.

Mittal Steel USA, Canada & Mexico consume in excess of 100 BCF of natural gas and significant volumes of liquid fuels and process waters on an annual basis. These physical commodities are purchased from numerous suppliers both private and governmental on both a regional and plant level basis. Mr. Ciesielski's job is to coordinate these activities on both a national & global level to insure an effective and economical purchasing strategy is achieved.

Prior to joining Mittal Steel USA, Paul worked in various engineering, marketing & purchasing positions for firms in the energy sector, including NIPSCo Energy Trading Company, Equitable Resources, Illinova Energy Partners, Nicor Energy and Constellation New Energy.

Mr. Ciesielski is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree.

 

 

David Duran, Managing Director, Origination, Fortis Energy Marketing & Trading

David Duran currently is responsible for all client hedging activities and structured transactions at Fortis Energy Marketing and Trading. Prior to joining Fortis, David had similar responsibilities at Xcel Energy, XL Capital and Enron. At Enron, David also was responsible for groups conducting M&A and business development activity. At the U.S. Department of Energy during the Reagan Administration, he performed Economic Analysis in the Policy, Planning and Analysis department. David has held teaching positions at The University of Rochester and at St John Fisher College. He has a BS in Business Administration-Finance from The Ohio State University and an MA in Economics from The University of Rochester.

 

 

Dave Fogg, Materials Manager, Brooks Construction Company

As Materials Manager for Brooks Construction Co., Dave Fogg is responsible for pricing and purchasing materials for asphalt production as well as purchasing fuel for eight asphalt plants. He also quotes prices on all asphalt mix that is sold or paved by Brooks Construction.

Dave first entered the asphalt industry in 1977 with the Maine Department of Transportation. He went from there to the Lane Construction Co. in 1985 and was responsible for inspection and designing pavements for the next 14 years. He then moved to the production side of the asphalt business with Stoneco Co. in Sidney, OH where he managed the production and materials procurement for eight asphalt plants in southern Ohio before joining Brooks Construction.

 

 

Bill Griffith, Regional Director, Marketing & Origination, BP Gas & Power, Moderator

Mr. Griffith joined BP / Amoco in 1994 &mdash opening the first Midwest Regional office for BP - with an emphasis on developing a local presence to market Natural gas supply and balancing services to Utility and Industrial clients. Bill has 20 years of commercial experience in the Natural Gas Industry, with various roles in Marketing, asset acquisition, trading and asset optimization. Bill has been instrumental in developing the strategy that has seen BP grow it's Midwest presence from one person in 1994 to over 80 people in 4 offices today in 2007. Bill has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.

 

 

Art Holland, Director, Power and Forecasting, Pace Global Energy Services, LLC

Art Holland has over sixteen years of experience in the electric power industry, specializing in electricity price forecasting, due diligence support for project financing, power project screening, power system modeling, and power asset valuation. Mr. Holland is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Power and Forecasting Practice at Pace Global Energy Services. He is directly involved in evaluating regional regulatory and legislative initiatives, analyzing supplier competitiveness, and developing competitive intelligence for market participants. Art has testified as an expert witness in support of energy asset valuation and merchant plant certification, presented several workshops on competitive power price and price volatility forecasting, and published a number of articles on the economic status of the competitive domestic power industry.

 

 

Bud Hum, Director, Natural Gas Products Marketing, IntercontinentalExchange Inc.

Mr. Hum joined The IntercontinentalExchange Inc. (ICE) in 2001 shortly after its inception. He is responsible for all North American Physical Natural Gas Markets traded on the platform. In addition to his marketing and sales responsibilities, Bud is charged with customer development, training, functional enhancements and business development. Armed with over 15 years of energy industry experience, he is well positioned to respond to the constant changes in the industry and keep ICE at the forefront of electronic trade execution.

Prior to ICE, Bud was President of Budco Hub Services and Marketing Director for QuickTrade LLC. He has also held positions in trading, operations and finance with Natural Gas Clearinghouse, Amoco and Direct Energy. Mr. Hum holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta.

 

 

William W. Hussey, Sr. Vice President, Origination, ConocoPhillips Gas & Power

William Hussey is Sr. Vice President, Origination for ConocoPhillips Gas & Power. His organization is charged with continuing to expand the company's gas and power marketing business by developing a base of long-term contracts and customer relationships.

Formerly president of Phillips Gas Marketing Company and manager of North America Natural Gas Marketing, Mr. Hussey has a broad base of experience. During his 30 years with ConocoPhillips, he had management positions in areas ranging from accounting and computing to planning & development and marketing. He has been in his current position for the last four years.

Mr. Hussey is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Accounting. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

 

 

Lee Lunde, Senior Vice President, Continental Hub, BP Canada Energy Company

Lee Lunde was appointed Senior Vice President in September 2006. In this role, she is responsible for natural gas marketing and trading activities for BP's Continental Hub region, comprised of Eastern Canada and the Unites States Midwest and Mid-continent.

Mrs. Lunde brings over 25 years of energy industry experience to this role, including the past five years at BP Canada. During that time, Lee has been a key player in the development of one of Canada's premier natural gas marketing entities, while supporting BP's business development activities including commercial support of the proposed Mackenzie Delta and Alaska Gas Pipeline Projects.

Prior to joining BP Canada in 2002, Mrs. Lunde served in several senior positions with ProGas, Mirant Canada, Pan-Alberta and CanWest. Her career began at Chevron Canada Resources.

Mrs. Lunde graduated with Great Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelors degree in Commerce.

 

 

Debbie L. McDermid, General Manager of Commercial & Industrial Gas, Integrys Energy Services, Inc.

Deb McDermid is responsible for the overall product and financial support for Commercial and Industrial Retail Gas customers of Integrys Energy Services, Inc. throughout North America. Integrys Energy Services is a combination of the unregulated marketing arms of WPS Resources Corp. and Peoples Energy Corp., which merged in early 2007. Deb's role includes working closely with sales and supply organizations to properly assess customer needs and new market expansion opportunities.

Ms. McDermid joined what was formerly WPS Energy Services, Inc. in 1996 as the customer support manager and was responsible for the development of processes, systems, and employees associated with customer service support activities. She has over 10 years of experience in the non-regulated energy industry and has facilitated the expansion and integration of many customer support offices throughout the US and Canada into the overall business structure.

Deb began her career with the regulated utility, Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (WPSC), in 1979. She holds a Bachelor degree in Business and an Associate degree in Accounting and participated in the Center for Creative Leadership program.

 

 

Dave Melita, Meteorologist, Weather Insight

Dave Melita has been working as a Meteorologist since obtaining a Masters Degree in Meteorology in 1982. He has held both public and private sector positions dealing with atmospheric research and operational forecasting.

During the past 11 years he has prepared meteorological newsletters designed specifically for the energy industry. His newsletters that provide commentary on temperature and precipitation patterns out to 90 days are designed to provide straightforward analysis of the atmospheric pattern and computer model accuracy, with an emphasis on identifying errors in either model or NWS forecasts that may be influencing energy markets. The long range forecasts feature detailed assessment of major atmospheric features expected to drive weather conditions in an understandable format that provides the reader with the necessary tools to assess the degree to which the long range forecast is verifying. His long range winter and summer forecasts have consistently out performed NWS predictions.

 

 

Stuart E. Nance, Vice President, Marketing, Ultra Petroleum Corp.

Stuart Nance has worked in the Natural Gas Industry for 26 years, with an emphasis on natural gas marketing and logistics.

Mr. Nance graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management. He has also earned an MBA, with Honors, from the University of Houston.

Stuart has worked for Ultra Petroleum for the last five years, most recently as its Vice President - Marketing. In this role, he is responsible for the marketing of the company's natural gas and condensate production from the Pinedale Anticline and Jonah Fields in the Green River Basin of SW Wyoming, as well as the Company's crude oil production in the Bohai Bay area, offshore China.

Previously, Mr. Nance has worked for MCN Energy Group, Torch Energy Marketing, Inc., American Pipeline Company, Meridian Oil, Inc., and Texas Oil & Gas Corp. He began his career as a field landman with TXO Production Corp. in Tyler, Texas in 1982.

 

 

Jack Neale, Energy Procurement Manager for North American Operations, Corn Products International

Jack Neale graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He spent the first nine years of his career at Amoco Oil Company (now BP) and worked in various engineering, plant maintenance, and plant operations positions at the refinery in Whiting, Indiana.

In 1994, Jack left Amoco and joined Corn Products International. He continued to work in engineering, project management, plant maintenance, and plant utilities operations positions. In 2005, he moved into his present position as the Energy Procurement Manager for North American operations. Jack has procurement responsibilities for natural gas, electricity, coal, and bulk chemicals. He manages the budgeting, physical supply contracting, contracting for delivery services, and risk management for three United States and three Canadian corn wet milling plants.

 

 

Joe Raia, Senior Vice President & Head of Global Marketing, New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) — moderator

Joe Raia has over 26 years of professional experience in the energy, financial services and transportation sectors. A 1979 graduate of the New York Maritime Academy at Ft. Schuyler, Mr. Raia sailed in the U.S. Merchant Marines, exclusively on oil tankers of all sizes, until 1988 when he received his U.S. Coast Guard Master's License, and came ashore.

Joe worked in various positions in the oil transportation and trading sectors until June of 2000. From that point Joe was employed in the financial services sector as senior vice president of business development and senior on-air energy analyst/anchor for JAGfn, an all day, live financial news show. Since 2001 Joe has been employed as a marketing director and most recently as senior vice president and head of global marketing at the New York Mercantile Exchange, using his extensive background and experience in the energy sector to develop the business and marketing plan and head up the launch of the Exchanges' new ClearPort Clearing program. The ClearPort Clearing program was awarded the 2004 Energy Innovation Product of the Year by EnergyRisk Magazine.

 

 

Tom Saal, Managing Director and Commodity Trading Advisor, Commercial Brokerage Corp., LLC

Thomas J. Saal has been Managing Director and Commodity Trading Advisor for Commercial Brokerage Corp., LLC since 2002. He had been Vice President for Pioneer Futures, Inc. from 1997 to 2002 and was senior financial consultant and commodity trading advisor for Merrill Lynch Futures Inc. from 1991 to 1997.

Mr. Saal was fuels analyst, fuel planner and rate analyst for Florida Power & Light Company from 1986 to 1991. He started his career in 1983 as a financial analyst with Natomas North America, Inc./Diamond Shamrock, and was comptroller of public accounts-Texas, economist, from 1984 to 1986.

He has an M.A. in Economics from the University of Houston.

 

 

Janelle Scheuer, Director, Commodity Derivatives, Wachovia

Janelle Scheuer joined Wachovia as a Director in the Commodity Derivatives Group in April 2006. Prior to joining Wachovia, Janelle was a Managing Director at Cinergy where she started the gas mid-marketing business, and managed both power and gas marketing, including both physical and financial transactions. Prior to Cinergy, she was a Director at Enron, where she marketed gas and crude derivatives to exploration and production companies, and afterward, physical and financial power in the PJM and New York areas. Janelle's derivative experience was also gained in 12 years of banking at JP Morgan, Chemical Bank and Royal Bank of Canada, where she developed and marketed interest rate and foreign exchange hedges to suit her customer's needs.

Janelle holds a BS in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany.

 

 

David J. Slater, Managing Director, Marketing, Nexen Marketing USA Inc.

David J. Slater is the Managing Director, Marketing, with Nexen Marketing USA Inc. He leads the team responsible for Nexen's marketing and structured product activities in the Midwest, Eastern Canada and Northeast markets, which include marketing Nexen's Canadian and Gulf Coast production.

Prior to joining Nexen, David managed the Midwest region for El Paso, Engage Energy and Westcoast Gas Services. He started in the industry working for Union Gas Limited, holding various positions in the regulatory, gas supply and storage & transmission departments.

Ken Snodgrass, Senior Vice President, North Region, Shell Trading Gas and Power/Coral Energy Holding, L.P.

Ken Snodgrass is a Senior Vice President of Coral Energy, with responsibility for the North region, including the Northeast and Midwest United States and Canada.

In his position, he oversees the company's gas and power trading activities for the region in offices in Houston, Syracuse, NY, Cambridge, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta.

Ken recently returned to Houston after living in The Hague, The Netherlands, managing Shell's liquefied natural gas supply in the Atlantic Basin. He recently was involved in LNG projects in Nigeria, Qatar, Spain, Portugal, the U.S. and Mexico.

Ken has 16 years of global supply commercial experience, having worked in a number of global supply and trading assignments in crude and oil products, both in the U.S. and London.

Prior to joining Shell, Ken worked for another major oil company as a reservoir engineer in California and Texas, and for an independent exploration and production company.

Ken has a degree in chemical engineering from The Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from The University of Houston.

 

 

Val P. Trinkley, General Manager, EnergyUSA-TPC, Corp.

Val Trinkley manages EnergyUSA-TPC's commercial & industrial energy sales and management activity. He has more than 20 years of experience in sales, customer service, and engineering in the natural gas and electric industry. His primary focus has been energy sales, customer balancing, risk management and application engineering to the industrial and large commercial segments. Val has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science from the University of Notre Dame. He is a Certified Energy Manager.

 

 

Martin Wilde, Director Marketing and Business Development, TransCanada US Pipelines Central

Martin Wilde serves as Director of Marketing for TransCanada U.S. Pipelines Central and is primarily responsible for the combined marketing efforts of ANR Pipeline, ANR Storage and Great Lakes Gas Transmission.

Martin received a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University in 1978. Following graduation, he joined Great Lakes Gas Transmission where from 1978 to 1995 he held various field and corporate positions in the Operations Department including Director of Pipeline Operations, commencing in 1992. In 1995, Martin was appointed Director of Transportation Services, which included marketing. Ellen Beswick, Publisher & Founder, Intelligence Press, Inc. — moderator

Ellen Beswick started the publishing company Intelligence Press, Inc., in 1981 with the first issue of the weekly Natural Gas Intelligence (NGI) to provide market information for the newly deregulated natural gas market. She and her staff have directed NGI's expansion to include the Weekly Gas Price Index (1983), the Daily Gas Price Index (1988) and NGI's Power Market Today (2001). The company also has hosted the annual GasMart conference and trade show since 1987. Before starting Intelligence Press, ms. Beswick served as associate editor of London Oil Reports. Previously, she had been a general and political/business reporter for United Press International, the Boston Herald daily newspaper, and the daily and weekly American Metal Markets. She has a B.A. in English from Wilson College, Chambersburg, PA.

 

 

Dexter Steis, Executive Publisher, Intelligence Press, Inc. — moderator

Dexter Steis joined the staff of NGI's Gas Price Index in 1995 as a reporter covering the natural gas cash and futures market. In 2000, Mr. Steis assumed the role of Executive Publisher of Intelligence Press, Inc., a position where he managed the launch of NGI's breaking news service at intelligencepress.com. His responsibilities include oversight of the price survey function, daily publication of the newsletters and sales and marketing for the company. More recently, Mr. Steis has worked to restore the confidence in gas price indices through conferences with the FERC and as a member of the Market Price Reporting Action Committee (MPRAC), a 40-member coalition of the natural gas industry, its customers, brokers, publishers and exchanges.
